Since later this week we will celebrate our country's Independence Day, we took this afternoon to read about and discuss our first president in "Who Was George Washington?" by Roberta Edwards.We talked about President Washington's home in Virginia and how much he loved it. We read some of his "Rules of Civility" and the girls took a few minutes to talk about their favorite rule and a rule they would try to remember from his list.
After a quick book discussion we moved on to our delicious treat. We had rectangle sugar cookies that we decorated to look like U.S. flags with frosting and berries. A delicious and patriotic treat!
